What is the Dr Mike King Memorial Fund?

Manish Patel, a consultant at St Mary’s Hospital, has set up a trust, supported by HIWCF, in memory of his friend Dr Mike King, to help students from state schools go to medical school.

About Dr Mike King

Dr Mike King grew up in Portsmouth and went on to work as a consultant radiologist at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham. Sadly, in 2018, he died from cancer at just 45 years old.

What is the aim of the Dr Mike King Memorial Fund?

Dr Manish Patel set up the trust in his friends’ memory to support young students in Portsmouth to achieve a place at medical school, providing help with course attendance and examination fees.
