“Lockdown was horrendous at the start. It’s been best described by one of the girls in the group, who said we felt like we were just coming out of isolation – only to be forced back into it….Maggie’s has been a lifesaver, particularly during lockdown.”
Cancer Care and Support
A grant of £2,964 to Maggie’s Southampton enabled 78 individuals, couples or families to have a one hour support session with a psychologist, providing a lifeline for people with cancer, their families and friends at what is a very difficult time even without the challenges presented to families affected by cancer.
The grant has supported people like Claire, who is now receiving psychological support and group support through phone calls and via online zoom sessions after her husband Billy died.
