“It’s heart-breaking to think of families and children in the UK going hungry and facing acute challenges during this unprecedented time. The need faced by many families is extremely serious and we are determined to do everything we can to support those who are most vulnerable. By partnering with the National Emergencies Trust and UK Community Foundations this funding will quickly go to work.”

Co-op Funding For Emergency Food
Co-op funding is focusing on what really matters in local communities and providing direct support to those who most need it.
The LifeHouse is a kitchen, resource and support centre that serves hot food in Southsea, helping those facing desperate situations including homeless people, rough sleepers, sofa surfers and those feeling disconnected and lonely.
A grant from Co-op has enabled the group to provide a comprehensive food parcel and hot meal service to those isolating and those vulnerable in their own homes.
“This has done so much to protect some 40-45 individuals from living in need and fear of going out and catching or indeed spreading the Covid-19 virus. We have a lot of very, very grateful Portsmouth folks who have been surprised and greatly relieved because of this grant!! A massive thank you from the LifeHouse and all our appreciative guests!”
Mike Morrell, LifeHouse Manager
