Grants will support organisations with a proven record in employability to enable people from black and minority ethnic communities, people with disabilities, long-term unemployed, single parents and people facing factors such as mental health, age and homelessness to move closer towards, or into employment.
HIWCF are managing the programme, which was created by Solent LEP in response to the call issued by the Department of Work and Pensions. It is supported by the European Social Fund, Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth City Council, Southampton City Council, and Sovereign Housing, together with extensive support from HIWCF donors.
The Solent Supporting Employment Programme follows the successful two-year Solent Community Grants Programme 2016-18, where over 52% of participants (524 people) were able to either move into employment, engage in education or training, or begin looking for work. Many more people were able to improve their employability prospects through involvement in volunteering opportunities in their local communities.
Check on the boundary map button below to see if your organisation is in the Solent LEP area.
